praying with us, that no mistake be made in the important work before us. During that service a great spiritual wave swept over us sesso gay as we lingered at the throne of grace. Bishop George F. Pierce, D.D., presided over this Conference; while the Rev. Sesso gay james A. Heard, of the Methodist sesso gay Episcopal Church, South, sesso gay was the Secretary pro tem. Bishop Pierce then requested Dr. A. L. P. Green, sesso gay of Nashville, Tenn., to read the action of the General sesso gay Conferences bearing upon our request to them for a separate organization and their action with respect to the same. These documents made clear the fact that the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, was anxious to sesso gay help in every sesso gay way possible to establish our Church and give us the advantage of their experience and knowledge. After listening to the reading of these documents, the brethren set their hands to the work before them.
The organization was sesso gay made permanent sesso gay by the election of Rev. J. A. Heard, Secretary, sesso gay and the Rev. L. J. Scurlock, sesso gay Assistant Secretary. work was done in a manner highly creditable to the Church and the delegates: The Rules of Order as set forth in the “Manual of Discipline” of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, were adopted for the government of the Conference. It adopted, in the main, the Book of sesso gay Discipline of the sesso gay Methodist Episcopal Church, sesso gay South, with such changes as necessity required, as the Book of Discipline of the new Church. It elected the Rev. William Henry Miles, a reserve delegate from the Kentucky Annual Conference, and the Rev. Richard H. Vanderhorst, of Charleston, S.C., as the first bishops of the Colored
